Staff at Dumbarton's Crosslet House urged to push for 'excellent' rating after glowing review

Staff and management at a Dumbarton care home have been advised to push for an “excellent” grade following a “very good” recent inspection.

Crosslet House recently scored four “very goods” for supporting people’s health and wellbeing, ensuring residents needs and wishes are met, ensuring residents are safe from infection and for quality assurance.

An update on the unannounced inspection, which took place between December 13 and 14 last year, was provided to members of WDC’s audit and performance committee. They were informed that inspectors reported Crosslet as a “well managed service” with significant strengths in the care provided to residents.

Staff promoted respect while warm and friendly interactions between staff and residents, which created a homely atmosphere, were also observed during the visit.

Council leader Martin Rooney said: “I think this is a first class report and it is good to see “four very goods” [in our services].

“That is obviously a reflection of the staff and management in the centre. There is obviously an opportunity to get up to an “excellent” rating.

“This is a really good report and it shows just how good our staff are in the services they provide to vulnerable older people. Well done everybody.” the staff and management in the centre.
