Stacey Solomon warned over US career following news of her Reese Witherspoon venture

Stacey Solomon has been warned that pursuing a career stateside "can be hard," particularly when it comes to being away from family and friends who are still based in the UK.

It comes following the recent news that presenter Stacey, 33, will front a new project for actor and producer Reese Witherspoon 's production company Hello Sunshine.

It was announced last month that Stacey will host home renovation show Bricking It. It's the first UK commission for the company, which was founded by Reese, 46.

It's been suggested that it could lead to opportunities for Stacey in the US, but she's now been warned by presenter Ross King, 60, about the difficulty of pursuing a career abroad.

Ross - best known as a correspondent on ITV 's Lorraine - relocated to Los Angeles more than two decades ago. The presenter had moved to the US from Scotland in 2000.

Ross - who is also a correspondent for Good Morning Britain - has said that it can be challenging when it comes to family members and friends who live in the UK.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Ross said he thinks Stacey could prove popular with US audiences. He said she's "very real" and added: "I could see a lot of doors opening for her."

Although there is no suggestion that Stacey is interested in pursuing a career abroad, Ross continued by sharing some of the challenges - should she ever decide to do so.

He said that to be successful stateside you have to be "tenacious" and "work hard". Ross said it can be "really daunting," adding that you have to take any setbacks and learn.

He told the outlet that he speaks to his sister several times a week and is in contact with pals. Ross however stated: "But I do really miss them and it can be hard."

Stacey is married to actor Joe Swash, 40. The couple are currently expecting their third child together, with them already parents to kids Rex, three, and Rose, one.
