Stacey Solomon trying to 'keep head above water' as she breaks social media silence following viral royal family clip

Stacey Solomon has returned to social media following a lengthy break, telling her loyal followers that she's trying to 'keep her head above water'. The Loose Women star is usually very active on Instagram but went quiet on her millions of fans before making a much-welcome return on Thursday evening.

She shared how her husband Joe Swash, who she married in a stunning Jewish ceremony at home in July, landed a new job away from home for a couple of weeks. It has been reported he is the new host of CBBC's The Dengineers, replacing existing host Joe Tracini, alongside Meryl Fernandes.

Whilst Stacey, 32, was proud of her hubby's latest venture, the TV star told her 5.3 million Instagram followers that she's been 'trying to get into the swing' of things in his absence - sorting schooling matters in particular - for their blended family. The couple share son Rex, two, and daughter Rose, ten months, whilst Stacey is also mother to Zach, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships while Joe also shares son Harry with an ex-partner.

Stacey first shared a photo of her smiling daughter, who turns one in a matter of weeks, next to their family pup, Teddy. "Hell everyone... Happy Thursday. Hope you're feeling ok today. And I hope these two smiley faces brighten up your day as much as they did mine this morning."

She then went on to film herself talking to the camera as she chilled with her little girl. She typed alongside the clip: "It's been an interesting week. Joe's gone away for work for two weeks so I've just been trying to get into the swing of it all around work without him.

"Also Leighton is in his last year of Primary [school] so this week was the week I had to book all of his open day appointments, applications and do walkaround." The Sort Your Life Out host continued: "One of the schools I had to sit in a queue at a certain time and try to book a slot and go and see it before the slots ran out, I felt like I was booking Coachella or something! Anyone find this secondary [school] process really scary?!"

She also said in the video: "Joe has gone away for a couple of weeks, he’s working away. So, it’s just us at the moment, so I’m just trying to keep my head above water." Stacey continued: "It’s been one of those crazy weeks, where you’ve got to go to all the open days and apply for schools within a certain timeframe. And, yeah, I’ve just been trying to sort them all out."

Stacey's return to social media comes a week after the Queen's death was announced. Following the change in the monarchy over the last week, the former X Factor star's comments about the royal family resurfaced. Back in 2018, Stacey aired her criticism of the Royals on the programme in which she spoke about not understanding the "obsession" with the family.

The conversation on the ITV lunchtime panel has gone viral in the past but was circulated on social media again amid the Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier in the year and again in the last week. In the clip, the 32-year-old appeared on Loose Women alongside panellists Christine Lampard, Linda Robson and Jane Moore. She said: "I don’t get why we’re so obsessed with these humans that are exactly the same. It could be us four sitting there, I just don’t get it."
