Stacey Solomon 'trying to keep head above water' as Joe Swash leaves for two weeks

Stacey Solomon has admitted she is 'trying to keep her head above water' after husband Joe Swash landed a new job away from home for a couple of weeks.

The couple share son Rex, two, and daughter Rose, ten months, whilst Stacey is also mother to Zach, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships.

Now, less than three months into married life, 40-year old Joe is heading off to present the new series of CBBC's The Dengineers alongside Meryl Fernandes.

Whilst Stacey, 32, is happy for her hubby, she told her 5.3 million Instagram followers that she's been 'trying to get into the swing' of things in his absence - sorting schooling matters in particular.

"It's been an interesting week," she exclaimed. "Joe's gone away for work for two weeks so I've just been trying to get into the swing of it all around work without him.

"Also Leighton is in his last year of Primary [school] so this week was the week I had to book all of his open day appointments, applications and do walkarounds."

The Loose Women star continued: "One of the schools I had to sit in a queue at a certain time and try to book a slot and go and see it before the slots ran out, I felt like I was booking Coachella or something!

"Anyone find this secondary [school] process really scary?!"

Joe will be replacing Joe Tracini for the seventh series of the children's programme, which sees a production team design themed dens or playhouses for children.

The upcoming series will start off with a Strictly Come Dancing -themed den for a super-fan of the dance competition - which is set to air soon.

Other creations include an orangutan den, a Shakespeare den, a crochet den and a rollercoaster den.
