Stacey Solomon says her ‘breasts were on fire’ during ‘awful’ mastitis

Stacey Solomon has revealed she has been suffering from an agonising symptom that felt like her “boobs were on fire”.

The 32-year-old television star, who welcomed her fourth child in October, apologised to fans for being quiet on social media as she dealt with the pain of mastitis.

According to the NHS, mastitis is most common in women who are breastfeeding and symptoms may include swollen breasts that feel hot or painful. Another sign of mastitis is a burning pain in the breast and sufferers are encouraged to see a GP if symptoms don’t get better within 24 hours.

Solomon took to social media to tell fans she has been on antibiotics.

“Sorry I’ve been so quiet,” Stacey wrote on her Instagram story. “I got mastitis and felt like my boobs were on fire. It was awful.

“After a few days of antibiotics I honestly feel like a new person.”

Despite her recent pain, Solomon went on to wish her followers a ‘Happy Thursday’ as she played with her son Rex on the swing at their home.

In the rest of her Instagram stories, she appeared in high spirits as she showed off some new handy hacks around her designer home.

The tidy influencer is also gearing up to marry her fiancé Joe Swash at a lavish ceremony at the couple’s sprawling home Pickle Cottage.

Speaking last week about their summer wedding plans, the mum of four revealed she had met up with caterers and florists as the three-month countdown to her big day began.

She also gave Instagram followers a glimpse of where she will walk down the aisle in the beautiful garden of their Essex home.

Solomon said to her Instagram followers: “This morning I had to meet with the caterers, florists & everyone in between because I almost forgot we are getting married in three months’ time.

“We are on the last part now, the aisle.”

Solomon then became emotional as she explained to fans her sister had decorated lots of jars with candles and placed them at the spot where the happy couple will say their vows in July.
