St Mirren defender Daniel Finlayson is set to make his temporary switch to Linfield permanent this summer.
The 22-year-old centre back first joined the Buddies on loan from Rangers back in October 2020.
He went on to make a permanent switch to Paisley and made his debut in the stripes against Ross County in April 2021 as a substitute.
The defender, who also had a loan spell in America during his time at Rangers, joined Linfield on loan in June last year after finding opportunities hard to come by at the SMiSA Stadium.
And after impressing during his time in Northern Ireland, Finlayson is now set to join the club on a permanent basis this summer after the clubs agreed a “small fee” for his services.
Saints boss Stephen Robinson said: “Daniel has gone on loan and done really well, leading Linfield to take him on a permanent basis for a small fee.
“He has featured in every game as well as in their European ties. We feel Daniel now needs regular first-team football at his age and we can’t guarantee that for him at this stage.
“We wish him well in his future development and wish both Daniel and Linfield well for the remainder of this season and next.”
