St Mirren have confirmed the loan signing of former Celtic, Hearts and Motherwell striker Tony Watt.
The nomadic forward, who has also enjoyed spells in England, Wales, Bulgaria and Belgium throughout his career, joined Dundee United last January after a prolific stint at Fir Park.
After falling out of favour at Tannadice this season, the experienced 29-year-old has been on the hunt for a new club this month.
And the lure of working with Stephen Robinson again as the Saints push for a top six spot and European football saw the Scotland international pick Paisley ahead of a return to Motherwell or a switch to Belgium outfit KV Oostende.
It's understood that the deal includes an option for St Mirren to buy the forward in the summer, should he impress during his initial spell at the SMiSA Stadium.
Watt revealed he can't wait to get started in Paisley and predicts a seamless move having worked with Robinson and several Saints players at Motherwell already.
He told stmirren.com: "I'm buzzing. I'm delighted to be here and now it's time to get to work. I know the manager and I've played with a lot of the boys so hopefully it'll be a seamless transition.
"I want to win games and adapt to the team. The manager wants me to play through the middle and score goals and that's what he believes I can do. I'm ready and raring to go and hopefully I can be involved in the next few days."
Robinson added: "I'm delighted to welcome Tony to the club. I’ve worked with Tony before and I know what he brings.
"Tony comes and links play, he makes things happen and has the ability to score goals as well which he’s proved.
"He adds a bit more to what we have – especially with Jonah being out – and gives us more options to choose from."
The Buddies also completed a loan move earlier tonight for talented young full-back Thierry Small from English Premier League side Southampton.
Tottenham were keen on a permanent deal for the former Everton youth product —who had a spell on loan at Port Vale earlier in the season — but the English Saints wanted to keep him on their books, preferring to see the England Under-18 international make a temporary move to pick up more experience before returning to St Mary’s.
Robinson said: "Thierry is a young player with lots of pace and lots of energy. He gives us another option on that left-hand side at left wing-back. Scott Tanser has played a lot of games with no competition in that area and if he got injured or we needed to change it for any reason we had no option, so it was important we brought someone in.
"He’ll bring us pace, energy, strength and good quality on the ball. We are looking forward to having him in and he’ll certainly add to the squad."
The Saints have also been linked with a move for highly-rated Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry. The creative 19-year-old has been attracting attention from several clubs after it emerged he would be allowed to leave Ibrox to gain some experience elsewhere in the second half of the season.
St Mirren were able to pursue new signings today thanks to the expected departures of midfield duo Ethan Erhahon and Dylan Reid.
Erhahon, who had been with the club since he was five years old, completed a medical this morning ahead of his £300,000 switch to Lincoln City.
With less than six months on his contract, and with the Paisley side only due training compensation if he moved to an English club at the end of the season, the Buddies decided to allow the Scotland Under-21 cap to make the move to the League One side.
Fellow academy talent Reid is set to join English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace —as long as he passed his own medical at Selhurst Park. The clubs were understood to have agreed a six-figure fee with add-ons.
