St Mirren boss Craig McLeish has hailed the loan signing of Rangers youngster Paul Nsio.

The midfielder's move to Paisley was confirmed this morning.

Nsio, 20, spent last season on loan at Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.

He scored three goals in 31 appearances for the Stark's Park club and won their Young Player of the Year award.

"Paul brings a lot of different things that we probably don't have access to," McLeish told Sky Sports.

"We only want to do loans if it's something we can't get access to in the open market or that we don't have access to within our academy.

"Paul brings athleticism, versatility, and he can play a number of different positions.

"He had a really strong season last year in the Championship with Raith. We're more than comfortable he can make the step up.

"We're delighted to have him as part of the group."

Nsio could make his St Mirren debut against Falkirk this Saturday as the new Scottish Premiership season gets underway.
