St Johnstone break Rangers ticket fan fury silence as chairman Steve Brown 'accepts criticisms' but swerves apology

St Johnstone chairman Steve Brown has stopped short of apologising to fans after a furious response from fans over Rangers ticket allocation for their Scottish Cup showdown.

Callum Davidson's side will be without a huge section of their support after fans announced they would boycotting the fourth round clash at McDiarmid Park after the club decided to give the visitors three sides of the stadium, with adult punters charged £30 for a ticket. Raging season ticket holders will be moved from the home stand as St Johnstone sacrifice their home advantage for the cup tie.

It is understood just 300 tickets have been sold to the Perth support and chairman Brown has finally broken his silence by attempting to pour cold water over the fiery response. A statement read: "The seating arrangements and pricing for the forthcoming Scottish Cup tie against Rangers has been met with a huge amount of negativity and hostility from a number of our valued fans.
