Neighbours of the little girl killed by a dog at her home in St Helens have spoken of their shock. The 17-month-old girl died of her injuries in hospital after the attack on Monday afternoon.
Joanne Matthews, 53, one of the family's neighbours in Blackbrook, St Helens, said: “She was such a beautiful little girl, toddling about. I’d see the family in passing, just to say hello, and they were always very pleasant.”
Ms Matthews said she saw an ambulance outside the house in Bidston Avenue at about 3.50pm on Monday. That was followed by about 10 police vehicles.
