The Scottish SPCA are appealing to animal lovers for donations of essential items for ferrets in the care of its Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity so far this year has had more ferrets come in to their care than is usual.
Centre manager, Gillian Boyle, said: “We are currently in the process of upgrading our ferret accommodation and are in need of essential items to enhance their enclosures.
“We are in need of bowls, litter trays and enrichment items to keep our animals like Rufus happy and healthy while they wait for their forever homes.
“Ferrets are highly intelligent and need lots of toys and enrichment to keep them stimulated.
“Your support means we can continue to provide the best care for our animals.
“We’d be so grateful for any donations and we know our ferrets will be too!”
Items can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list or sent from another online retailer that can deliver. Items can also be handed in daily between 1pm and 4pm to the reception at the Scottish SPCA, Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0SB.
