The peculiar mash-up of JRPG tropes and Disney nostalgia that is Kingdom Hearts will turn 20 soon, and Square Enix is holding a special event in its honor.
The Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary is happening on April 10, 2022, in Tokyo, Japan. The event will have a mini-concert, a live Q&A chat with the development team, and some sort of exhibition. Square Enix confirmed that the show will not be livestreamed, but a video will come after the fact.
It’s hard to say if there’ll be any big announcements at the event, but many are hoping for Kingdom Hearts 4, mainly since it appeared on Nvidia’s GeForce Now leak last year. However, considering there will not be a stream, I wouldn’t advise holding your breath.

Kingdom Hearts hasn’t been in the limelight since Sora joined the cast of Smash Bros. Ultimate, news that made fans go wild. Since then, however, there’s not been a peep from Square Enix.
This year, the company is releasing a few RPGs that might tide you over until a hypothetical 4th entry manifests. Perhaps the next one can be about Goofy squaring off against Square Enix Yosuke Matsuda for being interested in NFTs.
