Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario set for loan move to Italian giants Juventus

  • Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal allowing goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to join Juventus on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
  • The 29-year-old Italy international requested to leave Spurs earlier this summer to return to his homeland after three years in north London.
  • Juventus accelerated talks for Vicario after potential moves for Aston Villa 's Emiliano Martinez and Parma's Zion Suzuki fell through or stalled.
  • Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi sanctioned Vicario's departure following impressive performances from young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky late last season.
  • Vicario, who made 117 appearances for Spurs and helped them win the Europa League , could feature in Juventus's Serie A opener against Frosinone on Sunday.
