Springbourne Homes set to start work on 29 luxury homes near Melton Mowbray in the New Year

Springbourne Homes is to start work on 29 luxury homes near Melton Mowbray in the New Year.

The Leicestershire developer will build the new houses on a 10 acre site in Sandy Lane, Little Dalby, after securing planning permission from Melton Borough Council.

Springbourne chairman Adrian Burr said: "I am delighted to confirm that we will start construction at Sandy Lane after the festive period.

"We have worked alongside Melton Borough Council to agree these plans and we're now keen to start work on what we believe will be another successful development.

"There's a lot of negativity in the construction industry at the moment but there's none of that here at Springbourne. We are feeling very upbeat and positive.

"We're excited that we'll soon be moving into Melton to deliver our unique brand of aspirational homes which have been the bedrock of our success story for almost 30 years now."

The business has already picked up a number of awards for its current flagship site, Hornsey Rise near Market Bosworth, in west Leicestershire.

Mr Burr said: "Happily our reputation for delivering quality homes goes before us.

"At Hornsey Rise we sold the bulk of our award-winning homes off the plans with our keen customers prepared to wait for them to be built.

"We're anticipating similar interest at Sandy Lane and, hopefully, some more awards along the way."

The business was founded in 1993 and has since delivered a portfolio of homes across Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Shropshire.

The business will pay more than £1 million in Section 106 contributions for its Sandy Lane development, including £880,000 for offsite affordable housing, more than £87,000 towards education, a bus pass contribution of £20,200, a further £4,500 towards an upgrade to Burton Lazars Community Hall and a £2,480 contribution to civic amenities.
