Spring equinox 2026: where and when to see druids in London

The first day of spring is officially here, with warm weather and sunny spells forecast for the capital.

On the Spring Equinox, Druids and Pagans travel to Stonehenge to celebrate the point of the year when day and night are almost equal in length.

The Druid Order is a neopagan group that meets to discuss philosophy and mythology and maintain a connection to the Earth.

The name of the festival of the Spring Equinox in Druidry is Alban Eilir, meaning ‘The Light of the Earth’.

Spring is regarded as extremely important in Druidry, with three festivals dedicated to the season: Imbolc, Alban Eilir and Beltane.
