The highly-anticipated Spotify Wrapped for 2024 has finally arrived, and although some might see their listening habits reflected in the results, others are not so sure that the stats are as accurate as Spotify insists they are.

Many Spotify listeners were disappointed when they saw their Spotify Wrapped for 2024 as it was shorter and less detailed than before, featuring no music cities, top genres, listening auras, zodiac signs, etc. Instead, "Music Evolution" was added, which consisted of micro-genres for select months with creative titles that can't be traditionally classified.
During its latest earnings call, Spotify revealed it had begun implementing more artificial intelligence (AI) than ever before to further personalize its services. The move could also be interpreted as a way to fill some of the unattended roles after the company's mass layoffs.

Spotify reveals the most-streamed artists and songs globally
As expected — maybe due to media exposure, a potential industry plant, or pure talent — with 91.7 million monthly listeners, Taylor Swift stood as Spotify's Global Top Artist for the second year in a row, also landing the number one spot as the Most-Streamed Artist in the U.S. charts.
Following Taylor Swift, The Weeknd was the second Most-Streamed Artist Globally, even though he hasn't released an album since 2023. However, he recently announced that his new studio album, "Hurry Up Tomorrow," will be released in January next year.
In the same category, the Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny came in third place, followed in numerical order by Drake, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Feid.
Although Bad Bunny has a huge audience, totaling 65.8 million monthly listeners, Ariana Grande, who took ninth place, towers over him with 100.4 million monthly listeners. This seems a little incongruous with the supposed final results for the category.

As for the Most-Streamed Songs Globally, "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter took first place with 1.6 million monthly listens, yet she's nowhere to be found on any of the Most-Streamed Artists charts.
What's even more strange is that "Cruel Summer" by Taylor Swift landed in ninth place in the same category despite winning both the Most-Streamed Artists Globally and in the U.S.
However, Taylor Swift did land first place in the Most-Streamed Albums Globally category with her latest release, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.”
Spotify unveils the most-streamed artists and songs in the U.S.
Following Taylor Swift as the winner of yet again another category, Drake came in second place for the U.S. Most-Streamed Artists, proving his relevance even after he has yet to come out with a new album since 2023 when he released "For All the Dogs."
In the same category, the country music genre lands third place once again, with Zach Bryan taking over Morgan Wallen's previous spot, making him the fourth Most-Streamed Artist in the U.S. Following in numerical order are Kanye West, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and Metro Boomin.
Although Sabrina Carpenter also didn't place among the top ten U.S. Most-Streamed Artists, she still managed to land first place in the U.S. Most-Streamed Songs category with her hit "Espresso." However, this time, Taylor Swift didn't place in this category despite her huge wins.

The podcast charts seemed a bit more trustworthy, with "The Joe Rogan Experience" landing first place for the fifth year in a row and "Call Her Daddy" coming in second for the third consecutive year in both the Top Podcasts Globally and in the U.S.

This was the first year Spotify (SPOT) included audiobook charts, as it first launched the platform in the U.S. in 2022. As of October 2024, audiobooks are now available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Since this category is still relatively new for Spotify, the global rankings may be more accurate in the U.S. than in any other country, as all the titles are in English and all authors are American or English. Nonetheless, “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas was the top audiobook for both categories.
