The government's flagship project Khelo India, which aims to promote grassroots-level sports, received the highest allocation of Rs 900 crore from the sports ministry's total budget of Rs 3,442.32 crore in the union budget presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
This allocation is Rs 20 crore more than the revised allocation of Rs 880 crore during the previous financial year.
