NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry on Tuesday made a significant announcement, officially recognising the Handball Association of India (HAI) as the governing body responsible for the sport in the country.
This decision comes in the wake of Digvijay Chautala's election as the president of HAI and Jagan Mohan Rao being appointed as its secretary general. This marks the end of a prolonged deadlock over the administration of handball in India, which had arisen due to the intervention of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
