The Cincinnati Bengals keep getting a little help from the Pittsburgh Steelers lately.
Over the last two weeks, the Steelers have fallen to arguably new modern lows, losing back-to-back homestands against two-win teams.
In the process, the Steelers have gone from 7-4 to 7-6 in a hurry. Feel free to tack on the fact the Cleveland Browns in the AFC North have lost two in a row, putting things like this:
- Ravens (9-3)
- Browns (7-5)
- Steelers (7-6)
- Bengals (6-6)
The Bengals are 10th in the playoff seeding right now, but six-win Denver is one spot in front of them and four seven-win teams occupy the spots in front of them.
Not only do the Bengals get a chance to play the Steelers one more time, four of their last five come against the AFC.
None of this matters if the Bengals don’t beat the Colts this weekend to fully take advantage of the current bellyflop from the Steelers, of course. But Thursday night, the outlook got just a little better for the Bengals.
