Spiders set to invade homes as mating season starts

Spiders are set to become more visible next month as mating season starts - which will be unwelcome news for arachnophobes.

The eight-legged creatures will be searching for a mate from September, and will be more visible until around Mid-October, meaning you will more likely to see them in your homes. But fear not, there are some home remedies you can use to repel the creatures, the Daily Record reports.

A spokesperson for GardenBuildingsDirect.co.uk said: "The start of September sees the beginning of the spider mating season, so people will find more spiders in their home than usual. It is usually the male species that they see out and about looking for partners to mate with.
