'Spider-Man' Kirsten Dunst doppelganger admits she's still single despite looking like 'Mary Jane's Twin'

A 'Spider-Man'-obsessed' make-up artist is routinely told she could be Kirsten Dunst's twin - but despite flattering comparisons to Peter Parker's love interest she admits she's still a 'single Pringle'. Sophie Anderson said that a lad at school first compared her to the flame-haired beauty a decade ago, tagging her in a picture of Dunst on Facebook.

Ever since then the 24-year-old said she's regularly compared to the actress who starred alongside Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man' - but was convinced it was just down to them both being ginger. It was only after starting a TikTok channel that she became convinced of the resemblance to the Oscar-nominated actress - as users bombarded her with comments calling her 'Mary Jane Watson'.

Despite having not watched much of the 39-year-old actress' movie catalogue, Sophie is flattered by the comparison as she loves the original Spider-Man' trilogy. In a recent TikTok video, Sophie transitioned her face into that of the star leading commenters to brand the two 'twins'.

Sophie, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, said: "I first got told I looked like Kirsten Dunst when I was in high school, I was about 14. This boy would always go 'you look like MJ from Spider-Man'.

"At the time, it was quite trendy to tag people in Facebook pictures, so he uploaded a picture of her and tagged me in it. I just thought 'oh, it's just a ginger thing, because we're both ginger'. I was quite flattered because I love the Spider-Man'movies, especially the Tobey Maguire movies.

"I watched them a lot growing up. Spider-Man' is my favourite superhero, I was obsessed with those films growing up so I knew who she was.

"To be honest I hadn't watched much of her work, but since being told that I look like her, that pushed me to watch a few more of her films. I watched 'Bring It On' for example, that's a 2000s classic. I loved it, so I'm definitely a fan."

Initially, Sophie didn't take the comments too seriously, as she was convinced it was down to Dunst having red hair to play Mary Jane.

Sophie said: "I didn't really believe it the first time, I put it down to the redhead thing. Besides the hair, I guess we both have pale skin. Before I embraced my red hair, I would dye my hair dark brown. During that time I wouldn't get compared to her as much.

"Even the way I do my make-up is quite similar, it's quite light and natural, similar to how she wears it. It wasn't intentional. I would usually take it with a pinch of salt, but I'd never heard it so much until I got TikTok.

"Every single video I'll get comments like 'oh, Mary Jane!', 'MJ!' and 'you look like Spider-Man''s girlfriend'. Someone commented the other day 'How's Peter Parker?' and that made me laugh. It's very flattering, it's not something that ever annoys me."

Outside of TikTok, Sophie has been compared to other iconic redheads.

Sophie said: "[Someone stopped me] at a festival last year. We were talking to some guys who had pitched up next to us, and they were like 'you look like Mary Jane from Spiderman'. They also said 'you also look like Donna from That '70s Show' so I thought 'here we go again, it's just a ginger thing'.

"I'm a single Pringle. I've not gotten any Mary Jane comparisons on dating apps but I have had Daphne Blake from Scooby Doo. But she's a cartoon so I guess that'll be another ginger comparison. I'll take the comparisons though, they're flattering."
