Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse producers say it will "push boundaries" as new images and footage debut

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse new images.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse may not be due to hit screens until 2027, but some new images and updates from the team behind it have us excited. During Sony's CinemaCon panel, writer-producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller took to the stage to introduce some new footage from the upcoming Marvel movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, who was at the event, the new footage picks up straight after Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ends with Miles Morales stuck in an alternate universe and encountering another version of himself that became The Prowler. The pair are confused by each other's existence and fight over their differences before original Miles is able to make an escape when electricity surges through his hands.

There was also a supercut of moments shown from the rest of the movie, which included shots of Kingpin and Spider-Man Noir, according to The Wrap. The footage was also formatted especially for 1.43:1, of which Lord said: "The Sony Animation team is all about pushing boundaries – that is their super power."

The duo also teased what audiences can expect at the CinemaCon panel. Miller called it "the most emotional Spider-Verse film we have ever made," while Lord promised it would be the "most spectacular." You can have a sneak peek at what to expect in the newly released images from Marvel, which show a touching moment between Miles and his dad and some epic-looking fights. Check them out below.
