Spice Girls send fans into meltdown with cryptic tweet

The Spice Girls shared a message on Twitter that fans are taking as new music is on the way.

After their hugely successful stadium tour which saw the Spice Girls sell out 13 dates across the UK, the girls recently announced they'd be releasing a new docuseries looking back at their biggest moments. The news came alongside their plans for a major milestone celebration for the album, Spiceworld, in November but a new cryptic message has sent fans into meltdown.

Sharing an image with three emojis on Twitter, the post appears to reference one of their long-lost tracks. The emojis included a set of ladders, a peace sign and a woman waving which fans are reading as "step to me."

Step To Me was a chart-topper that was originally created alongside their 1997 Pepsi ad. The only way to obtain the track was to collect 20 pink ring pulls from cans of Pepsi and post them off to receive a physical CD of the song several weeks later.

The single has never found its way to streaming services but the new post from the girls suggests that may soon be changing. Replying to the tweet, one fan said: " OMG! "Step to Me" is officially coming!!!" Another added: "So excited that the Spice Girls are teasing the release of #steptome."

Though nothing is set in stone regarding their Spiceworld celebrations, the docuseries and potential Step To Me rerelease will fall in line with the album's anniversary. The release birthed some of their biggest hits including Viva Forever, Stop and Spice Up Your Life with many fans hoping for another tour to mark the occasion.
