Backed by SPFL's title sponsor cinch, the league will be reintroduced following discussions with member clubs.

It was paused during the 2019/20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will now resume on Tuesday, September 6, with matches taking place on Tuesday afternoons.

Ten clubs are taking part in the league. They are Ayr, Dundee, Dundee United, Hamilton, Hibs, Kilmarnock, Livingston, Motherwell, Queen of the South and Queen's Park.

Neil Doncaster, SPFL chief executive, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our member clubs the opportunity to be able to play SPFL cinch Reserve League football again, after the League was originally paused due to the pandemic.

“We would also like to thank our partners at cinch for its support of the SPFL cinch Reserve League and its fantastic ongoing backing of the Scottish game.”

The SPFL have also confirm the return of the cinch Reserve Cup for season 2022/23. The draw and fixtures for the cinch Reserve Cup will be published on Tuesday August 2.
