U.S. college students who spend just two hours a day on social media are more likely to be lonely than people who don’t use the platforms as much, according to a large nationwide study.
Researchers polled nearly 65,000 students, aged 18 to 24 years old, at more than 120 American colleges and found that spending just 16 hours a week on the platforms is enough to increase their risk for loneliness.
