Spectacular light show returning to Nottingham park after 3 years

A spectacular light show is set to return to Highfields Park on Saturday, August 6 for the first time in three years. The Nottingham-based company, Architects of Air, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a brand new Luminarium design.

It marks a welcome return after a three-year gap caused by the pandemic and the luminarium Dodecalis. will remain in the park until September 14. The giant inflatable structure invites visitors to walk in and experience the different light that flows through the design.

The new design, Dodecalis, will draw visitors through its labyrinthine shape and three domes where they can enjoy the neon colour display. Dodecalis is named after the dodecahedron, a 12-sided platonic solid based on pentagons. The design features three domes and its asymmetric design aims to disorientate the visitor to make exploration more exciting. The design enables flowing 'neon-like contour lines of vibrant intensity.'
