Does Specialized offer free delivery?
Yes. If you are just buying gear, apparel, helmets, or components, Specialized offers free standard shipping on all orders over $50.
However, if you are purchasing a complete adult bike, shipping varies by weight and distance. You can choose to have it shipped for a fee directly to your doorstep or choose their Pick Up in Store option, where it is shipped for free to a local authorized Specialized retailer for professional assembly.
Are Specialized bikes good?
Yes Specialized bikes are widely considered to be one of the Big Three bicycle brands, alongside Trek and Giant. From professional racing to local trail riding, Specialized has a reputation for producing some of the highest-quality, most technologically advanced bikes on the market.
Here at Cycling Weekly, we loved the Specialized Roubaix SL8 Expert and gave it a 4.5-star rating thanks to its great cornering abilities and ride over rough roads. We also think the Specialized Creo SL Expert, a gravel e-bike, is great, with a 4.5 rating, which we could barely find an issue with.
However, they are a premium brand, which means you are paying a premium price.
Is Specialized an American company?
Yes, Specialized is an American company. It was founded in 1974 by Mike Sinyard and is headquartered in Morgan Hill, California.
In 2001, a large Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer purchased a 49% stake in Specialized. However, Mike Sinyard holds majority ownership and continues to operate independently from California.
Do Specialized bikes have warranty?
Yes, Specialized offers a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on the frame and fork. However, you must register your bike on the Specialized website within 90 days of purchase to get the warranty.
Keep in mind that this covers manufacturing issues and not any damage from crashes, neglect, or normal wear and tear.
What is the Specialized returns policy?
If you’d like to return your purchase - including complete bikes - you have up to 60 days from the delivery date to send your item back if it is new and unused and 30 days if your item has been lightly used. All returned items must be packed with the relevant manual, warranty documents, and any other accessories to be eligible for a full refund.
