'Special' Arsenal compared to Manchester City amid huge Premier League title race claims

Arsenal have been compared to Premier League champions Manchester City as the Gunners continue their impressive start to the new campaign. Mikel Arteta's men have managed to win games, but they've done so in style, dominating them all so far.

The Spaniard made a number of signings over the transfer window, though there's been no need to gel as they hold a 100 percent win record with three victories from their opening three fixtures. The latest was a 3-0 thrashing away at Bournemouth, with control of the game taken early.

Martin Odegaard scored a quickfire double inside just 11 minutes, giving a dream start to the travelling supporters on the south coast. William Saliba then scored his first goal for the club with a sweet half volley to wrap up all three points for the visitors.

Discussing the performance, Arteta said: "I am very happy. It's really difficult to come here and win 3-0. Credit to the boys for the way we played.

"It's not easy, and we have good proof from when they played Villa how different the game was and how different the game became in the second half. I'm really pleased, and at the same, we have to look out for ourselves, and there are many areas where we can get better."

Whilst it's early days, it further consolidates claims that Arsenal could be title contenders this season, with the likes of Scott Parker, Patrick Vieira and even Ronaldinho claiming that the Gunners may be involved. The latest to praise the side is former Tottenham man Jamie O'Hara.

Speaking to Talksport, the pundit made a huge comparison to current title holders Manchester City: "They are looking a bit special this Arsenal side. They look like Man City, in a way. It's like they've almost got that where they're playing like Pep Guardiola's Man City, it's almost a joy to watch, and I'm a Spurs fan.

"They're looking like a team that could actually be in amongst it."

It remains to be seen whether Arteta can put his side in and amongst it, but it could prove a huge step forward in the project if he does just that.
