A Spartan is heading to the US Open for the first time in program history.
Matt Forbes officially qualified for the US Open on Sunday. Forbes won the USTA Boys’ 18s national championship on Sunday, which qualified him for the upcoming US Open.
According to Michigan State Men’s Tennis X account, Forbes is the first Spartan to play in the US Open.
The US Open will be held from August 26 – September 8.
