Spain defender Pedro Porro was falsely accused online of wearing a Palestinian flag during his country's World Cup celebrations after images from Spain's victory over Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final spread rapidly across social media, prompting widespread speculation about the flag draped around his waist.

The claims surfaced after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on 19 July. Images from the post-match celebrations showed the Tottenham Hotspur defender wearing the official flag of his home region, Extremadura, as players celebrated Spain's first World Cup title in 16 years.
