Spanish midfielder David Silva announces retirement after knee injury

Former Spain international and skilled midfielder, David Silva, announced his retirement on Thursday. This decision came shortly after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during pre-season training with his club, Real Sociedad.

The unfortunate incident occurred earlier in July, affecting his left knee and ruling him out for an extended period.
