Leeds United youngster Mateusz Bogusz is a wanted man after catching the eye while on loan with UD Ibiza last season. According to reports in Ibiza, in both Periodico de Ibiza and Diario de Ibiza, the Spanish second tier outfit have requested to take Bogusz from Elland Road for another season.
The Poland under-21 international made a strong impression during his time with the club and was a regular under Juan Carlos Carcedo, who deployed him on both flanks and occasionally in the middle of the park. He made 22 appearances in total, scoring four goals and assisting seven more, but his season was brought to an end in January as he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in a 5-0 win over Malaga.
Bogusz underwent surgery in the days after picking up the injury and he has been on the sidelines ever since. However, it seems Ibiza are keeping tabs on his recovery and they are keen to take him for a second season as he edges towards a return to action.

“All his teammates want him to continue,” Ibiza sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez is quoted as saying about Bougusz in the Periodico. “The president wants him to continue, and the sporting director also wants him to continue, but it is a situation that has to be resolved with Leeds and the player himself.
“We have already presented, through the president, the request for him to return with us.”
Bogusz has made three appearances for the Whites, with his only league outing coming against Charlton Athletic on the final day of the club’s promotion-winning Championship campaign. The 20-year-old only has a year remaining on his current deal, though, and that might be a factor in Leeds’ plans for him this summer.
