SP quits MVA following Uddhav’s close aide remark on Babri demolition

Mumbai: The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday announced to quit the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra, citing Shiv Sena’s (UBT) stand on the Babri Masjid demolition.

Maharashtra SP chief Abu Asim Azmi announced that the party has quit the MVA, saying there was no point of continuing in the alliance where there is no uniformity on issues nor adequate consultation with allies. 

Maha SP chief issues statement
“Samajwadi Party can never remain with communal ideology, hence we separate ourselves from Maha Vikas Aghadi," Mr Azmi said in a separate statement.
