
Police are prevented from countering misinformation by laws which are outdated in the social media age, MPs investigating last year’s violent anti-immigration riots have said.
Limits on disclosing details of criminal investigations "created an information vacuum that allowed disinformation to flourish" after three children were stabbed to death at a summer dance party in July, Parliament's Home Affairs Committee said.
