Southmead stabbing: Police name suspect in attempted murder probe

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Southmead.

Liam Davis, 26, of Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe, will appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday, April 5).

It comes after officers were called to an address in Ringwood Crescent on Sunday (April 4) where they found a woman, in her 20s, with multiple stab wounds.

She remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police issued a statement on Sunday, saying: “At 5.40pm today a woman in her 20s was stabbed by a man at an address on Ringwood Crescent, Bristol.

"The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and is in a serious but stable condition."

A man was arrested and held in custody before being charged today.
