Southmead Road crash victim named as 'loving' grandma Nora, 86

Tributes have been paid to a ‘loving’ grandmother-of-four from Southmead after she died following a serious crash in Bristol.

Nora Pomery was walking in Southmead Road near Henleaze Road roundabout at around 5pm on Tuesday, February 22, when she was critically injured in a collision involving a car. The 86-year-old was then taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries but sadly died on Thursday, March 3.

Her son David, daughter-in-law Mandy and four grandchildren Gabriela, Luke, Kieran and Georgia said they are "deeply saddened by this tragic loss".

“Nora was a loving, caring and wonderful person that will be truly missed. If someone has any information whatsoever that could help with the investigation, please contact the police,” the family shared in a statement via police.

Avon and Somerset Police added: "Our thoughts remain with Nora’s family and they continue to receive specialist support. The family have asked for privacy at this very difficult time."

The force's investigation into the collision is still ongoing. Police have said Ms Pomery was wearing a dark purple jacket, grey leggings and carried a dark coloured handbag with brown handles and black pockets at the time.
