Work begins to fill the 'Wapping Wharf gap' with six-storey block of flats

Work has begun to fill in the ‘Wapping Wharf gap’ - a space left between two of the developments next to Bristol’s harbourside.

Developers plan to build 13 new apartments in a narrow six-storey block of flats that the architects are describing as ‘sleek’.

The site, between the first apartments built at The Quays on the western side of Wapping Wharf and the rear of Anchorage Apartments, has been left empty for around 20 years since the first developments took place on this part of Spike Island.

Arctic Monkeys at Ashton Gate: Tickets, dates, tours, clashes with football

The first big concert for next year at Ashton Gate has been unveiled - and its Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys that will be taking to the stage on the pitch at the city's biggest venue.

The announcement was made on Friday, September 23, and coincided with Arctic Monkeys announcing a full UK & Ireland stadium tour, which starts with the Bristol gig on May 29, takes in 13 (so far announced) dates in stadiums and big parks in England, Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.

When this year's Strictly Come Dancing began, comedian and actor Jayde Adams told millions of viewers that if you cut her open she'd have 'Bristol' on one side and 'Strictly' on the other like a stick of rock - and she was not lying.

Whilst Jayde may not be the most household-name-famous of the 15 celebrities donning the sequins with the professionals for the 2022 season of Strictly Come Dancing, she may well be the one who has been born to be a Strictly star.
