South Africa's suspended deputy head of the police, Shadrack Sibiya, resigned from his position on Monday amid allegations of corruption and alleged sexual offenses leveled against him.
Sibiya was set to face a disciplinary hearing on Monday but his lawyers tendered his letter of resignation at the start of the proceeding, police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said.
