Royal Bangkok Symphony Music School presents "Love Triangle", an afternoon of chamber music by Brahms and the Schumanns, at 140 Wireless, Witthayu Road, on Saturday at 4pm.
As part of the Sounds On Wireless series, the concert invites audiences to explore the remarkable artistic connection between Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms through an intimate chamber music programme.
Performed by outstanding graduate students from Tianjin Juilliard, the show features pianist Panyakorn Lertnimitphan, violinist Thanatat Sriaranyakul, horn player Thanachock Udompat and guest pianist Nuttawut Pipithsuksunt.
The programme opens with Robert Schumann's Adagio and Allegro For Horn And Piano, a work that showcases both lyrical intimacy and virtuosic brilliance. It's followed by Three Romances by Clara Schumann, one of the 19th century's most gifted composers and pianists. Rich in poetic expression and elegance, the work remains one of her most beloved chamber compositions.
The centrepiece of the afternoon is Brahms' monumental Horn Trio In E-Flat Major, one of the masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire. Written in memory of his mother, the work combines profound emotional depth with extraordinary instrumental writing, bringing together violin, horn and piano in a uniquely warm and noble sound world.
The second half expands beyond the Schumann-Brahms circle with Alberto Ginastera's vibrant piano repertoire Suite De Danzas Criollas, a dazzling display of rhythmic and South American colour, before concluding with Chopin's heroic Polonaise In A-Flat Major, one of the most iconic works in the piano literature.
Tickets cost 600 and 800 baht and are available at the door, subject to availability. Advance reservations are recommended.
