Sophie Turner deletes cryptic Taylor Swift reference as she returns to social media amid Joe Jonas divorce

Sophie Turner marked her return to social media amid her divorce from Joe Jones by sharing a photo in support of friend Taylor Swift - before promptly deleting it.

The 27-year-old has been absent from social media since she confirmed her divorce from Jonas, 34, in a joint statement last month.

In the wake of their acrimonious split, Turner has remained quiet online but broke her silence on Sunday to show off her beaded friendship bracelet that featured a reference to Swift’s album, Fearless, from the Eras Tour on her Instagram Stories.

This is the title of the Grammy winner’s second album and is thought to feature songs about Turner’s ex Jonas, who had dumped Swift in a 27-second phone call just before it came out in 2009.

Tracks You’re Not Sorry, Jump then Fall, and Forever & Always are all believed to be about Jonas while Mr Perfectly Fine is thought to be a direct reference to him.

Within hours of sharing the post, the X-Men actress deleted it from the social media platform.

Turner has been spotted hanging out with Swift multiple times since her divorce news, and is reportedly staying at Swift’s New York pad.

The actress’ social media update comes weeks after she and Jonas agreed to temporarily keep their two children in New York, according to court documents.

The agreement came after the British star filed a legal petition in New York suggesting that Jonas had “wrongfully retained” their daughters in New York City away from “their habitual residence” in England.

The exes have agreed to an interim consent order that bans both parties from removing the children from the state.

The filing comes as an apparent truce between the pair after exchanging allegations against each other since announcing their divorce.

According to NBC News, the pair had agreed to make the UK their permanent residence in April 2023. The filing suggested the family moved to rented accommodation in the UK in May 2023 and were planning to buy a permanent home by the end of the year.

In recent weeks, their daughters have reportedly been cared for by their father in the US while he is on tour as Turner finished filming in the UK.

According to reports, when the couple met to discuss their separation on September 7 after Jonas had filed for divorce, he refused to hand over the children’s passports so they could return to the UK with Turner. She then filed the legal petition days later.

After the claims were made, Jonas has hit back issuing a statement rejecting any suggestion that he has “abducted” their two daughters amid a messy divorce.

A statement issued by a representative for Jonas said: “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending.

“When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.

“The children were not abducted. After being in Joe’s care for the past three months at the agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother.

“Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the US permanently.”

A joint statement from the former couple earlier this month described the decision to divorce as “amicable” and “mutually decided” after “four wonderful years of marriage”.

The couple met in 2016 and married in Las Vegas in 2019. Turner gave birth to their first child in July 2020, and their second was born two years later.
