Sonic X Shadow Generations just received new information where it was revealed that the Black Hedgehog will now have access to new Doom powers.
The announcement comes with a new trailer that highlights each unique ability in the remaster and how they provide new twists for the character's platforming as well as combat. There was also gameplay that was shown that featured new stages.
Shadow's New Doom Powers
They were calling back to fan favorites such as Chaos Island from Sonic Frontiers and Radical Highway from Sonic Adventure 2. There were also some callbacks to iconic boss challenges such as Metal Overlord from Sonic Heroes.
One thing that eagle-eyed fans may have noticed was the reimagined hub world, White Space, which is where players will be able to test out and master Shadow's new powers.
It is also the base hub for you to explore, unlock stages, and uncover collectibles, according to the PlayStation Blog.
Sonic Team creative officer Takashi Iizuka also talked about how Sonic X Shadow Generations was the perfect opportunity for them to give the Black Hedgehog his new powers. They also offer new, action-packed ways to navigate various stages and boss fights.
He said that in terms of gameplay, they wanted to make Sonic X Shadow Generations' action with the Black Hedgehog much more distinct from Sonic himself.
The new Doom powers are essential because they give Shadow new ways to attack enemies and travel the overworld.
One of the new abilities that Shadow has access to in the upcoming remaster is known as Doom Spike., which shoots out a quintet of burning goo projectiles. Another is Doom Wing, which lets you soar through the skies effortlessly, said Polygon.
Sonic X Shadow Generations' Collector's Edition
Players will be able to play around with Shadow's new powers when Sonic X Shadow Generations launches on Oct. 25. 2024. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Fans of the franchise also have the opportunity to grab the game's collector's edition, which will cost $249.99. This particular copy of Sonic X Shadow Generations will include all contents found in the launch edition.
These include a reversible cover, in-game legacy skin for Modern Sonic, as well as a 28-page book that documents the life and times of Sonic Adventure 2 villain Gerald Robotnik.
The collector's edition also features an art book, a CD copy of the official soundtrack, and many more, according to Kotaku.
