It’s been five years since the last main-line Sonic game was released, but the wait is thankfully less than a day away now. Sonic Frontiers is taking the blue burr into new territory with this open-world game, and everyone waits with bated breath to see if Sonic works in this kind of environment.
For those who want to dive into the action as soon as possible, we’ll let you know precisely when Sonic Frontiers will unlock on all systems and when you can start pre-loading the game.
Sonic Frontiers release time
While Sonic Frontiers will technically be getting a simultaneous global release, it’s staggered slightly across different consoles, but the date to mark is Tuesday, November 8.
PS4/PS5:

Nintendo Switch
Switch is the only one we don’t know for sure, but typically games unlock at midnight local time on launch day unless the publisher specifies otherwise. In this case, it’s most likely to line up with PlayStation and Xbox release times.
Sonic Frontiers pre-load
Pre-loads for Sonic Frontiers went live on November 6 for all platforms except PC. Whether any pre-loads will be available on the Steam version of the game is unclear, but it is seemingly unlikely given that the game is less than 24 hours away now.
