Climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk was taken to a hospital by Delhi Police on Saturday after he had been on a hunger strike for the past 20 days at Jantar Mantar.
Delhi Police said Wangchuk was moved to the hospital following directions from the Delhi High Court and medical advice due to his deteriorating health condition. In a post on X, DCP New Delhi said protesters tried to obstruct the process, leading to a "slight commotion", but police exercised restraint and completed the evacuation safely.
"While complying with the orders of Hon’ble High Court the protestors tried to create obstruction, in which slight commotion ensued, however police took maximum restrain and undertook the exercise safely," the DCP said.

The police also appealed to protesters at Jantar Mantar to vacate the site peacefully.
