Somerset manufacturing firm Offsite Solutions has won a £4.2m contract to supply a huge build-to-rent housing development in East Sussex with ready assembled bathroom units.
The company, based in Highbridge, will make 839 bathroom and shower pods for the £260m project in Hove.
Due for completion early in 2024, the six apartment buildings at Sackville Road will provide 564 studio, one to three-bedroom apartments.
This is Offsite Solutions’ fourth and largest project for developer Moda Living, bringing the total number of pods ordered for this developer to more than 2,600.
This latest contract, awarded by principal contractor Midgard, follows Offsite Solutions’ work on bathrooms for Moda developments in Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow.
Offsite Solutions will fully fit the bathrooms at its factory in Isleport Business Park, before they are later dropped into position onsite as the buildings’ structures are constructed.
Managing director James Stephens, said, “We partnered with Moda and Midgard to engineer the pod solutions at the initial design stages of the Hove scheme. This early engagement maximises the benefits and efficiency of offsite manufacturing and standardisation, to the benefit of both the developer and the contractor.”
“Pod solutions work very well for build-to-rent developments, and we are delighted to be awarded our fourth project for Moda. On completion of Sackville Road and their Holland Park neighbourhood in Glasgow, we will have manufactured over 2,600 bathroom pods for this client.”
Offsite Solutions accumulated a series of million-pound contract wins last year. One of the deals saw the firm provide nearly 1,000 pods for one of the UK’s largest build-to-rent development scheme s, The Cherry Park project, opposite London’s Westfield Stratford City shopping centre.
