One lucky winner in Merseyside has just become a millionaire via their NS&I Premium Bonds.
Premium Bonds winners are announced near the start of each month, and two people in the UK have won the top prize of £1m. One winner lives in Sefton, and prior to the draw held £46,525 in bonds.
The winning bond was purchased in October 2019, with the code 371JL524811.

The second winner hails from Nottingham, and before the draw had the maximum amount of £50,000 in the bonds. This bond was purchased in January 2019, with the code 350FG197341.
Every month only two winners take home the huge £1m prize, but there are still plenty of other prizes available, with 59 people winning the second prize of £100,000 and 117 claiming £50,000.
Across the board for the May 2023 prize draw, a total of 5,048,164 prizes worth £333,178,725 will be paid out. There were more than 121 billion bond numbers eligible for the draw.
Premium Bonds are an investment product by National Savings & Investment (NS&I) but instead of getting interest on your money, you're entered into a monthly prize draw. Who wins is down to pure chance, and you may not win a penny.
You get a unique bond number for each £1 invested and you can win between £25 and £1m each month, in tax free cash.
