Some Bridgend children are having to walk miles to school each day as they are unable to use the bus

A number of parents across Bridgend have continued to voice frustrations this month, after they say the local council's threshold for free school transport has left their children walking miles to school each day.

It follows criticism that has been given to both the Welsh Government and local authority over it's three mile cut off rule for free transport to secondary schools, alongside a two mile cut off for children in primary schools.

Others have noted what they describe as inconsistencies with the policy with children who are already in the schools allowed to keep free transport along with those who have older siblings in attendance.
