A soldier has told of how he broke open the door of a train "to protect the lives of our citizens" as temperatures skyrocketed.
A major delay on the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) yesterday lead passengers to get out on the tracks after the train stalled at around 3pm amid reports of very hot conditions on board.
A soldier on board, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Dublin Live if he "didn't act people would have been seriously injured".
