Soldier died after being accidentally shot in head by comrade during training exercise

Conor McPherson

The death of a soldier who was shot in the head during a night training exercise was a tragic accident, an inquest ruled.

Private Conor McPherson was shot through his helmet by a fellow soldier in August 2016.

The 24-year-old suffered a fatal injury and died, an inquest at Northumberland Coroner's Court heard.
