Sol Bamba is among the early contenders to take over as Cardiff City boss as Vincent Tan weighs up whether to give Mark Hudson the role full time.
Bluebirds owner Tan will give interim boss Hudson the chance to impress, with the first week after the international break already suggested as potentially pivotal in his bid to land the role on a permanent basis.
Cardiff play Burnley, Blackburn and Wigan in the space of seven days at the start of October, and a positive return of results could leave Hudson well placed to win the nod from Tan.

Hudson is currently the favourite with the bookies, but Cardiff are understood to be keeping tabs on other options, including fans' favourite Bamba.
It is understood Bamba's love for the club is still as strong as always and he would likely be interested in taking the reins at the Cardiff City Stadium should the Bluebirds opt to embark down that route.
There is clearly some way to go before any firm decisions are made, with the Cardiff Board keen to assess Hudson's credentials before opting on their next move, but that hasn't stopped Bamba and several others being linked with the job.
Jody Morris is a name floated and, while it's not entirely clear if he's under consideration this time around, he was a candidate who generated some enthusiasm in certain corners of the City boardroom back in October following the departure of Mick McCarthy.
Morris is out of work, having previously spent time as Frank Lampard's assistant at Chelsea, and he could well prove an option Cardiff's hierarchy look at again.
Former Reading boss Veljko Paunović has also been mentioned as a name in the frame, but again the level of any interest in the Serb isn't yet known.
Luton boss Nathan Jones, a Cardiff City fan, is another option being put forward. However, there are already concerns over what it would take to prise him away from Kenilworth Road. Jones has another five years left on his current deal with the Hatters, and it's not yet clear what sort of financial package would be required to bring him to the Welsh capital.
There has also been a suggestion that his disastrous spell at Stoke City might well leave him reluctant to leave Luton again so quickly.
Sean Dyche was an early contender according to the bookies, but his name is being played down by sources in the capital, with the former Burnley boss likely to be eyeing up another job in the Premier League.
Scott Parker is similarly an unlikely proposition, with the former Bournemouth and Fulham manager set to take a year out of football before deciding on his next move.
