Sofia Vergara's acting career may be more aligned with the mob wife aesthetic right now (Griselda is taking over our Netflix feeds, after all), but when it comes to her home, the star takes a luxurious approach to interior design.
In a recent Instagram post, the Colombian actress revealed her lavish walk-in closet, featuring a crystal chandelier, floor-to-ceiling shoe shelves, and clothing galore.
When dealing with a large space like Sofia's, interior therapist Suzanne Roynon explains that mindfulness around closet organization and how items in the space can make it look even sleeker. 'It might be time for a little wardrobe interior therapy to edit out the clothes she won’t wear again to reduce overload in what’s actually a huge and incredibly cleverly built closet space,' she says.
However, Sofia has utilized some clever storage techniques to keep her large wardrobe neat and visible, such as double-hanging rails and high-level space for items like purses. She also displays photos and sentimental on a white island, which is increasingly popular in closets.
'What’s really striking is the elegance of the island countertop, a place for treasured photos, perfumes, and small and tabletop mirrors facing in three directions to enable quick decision making regardless of where the actress is standing,' says Suzanne.
She also notes that the standing rail near the makeup/seating area is likely used for decision-making prior to events, a handy addition. 'For anyone involved in red carpet events and photoshoots, [it] is a valuable way to keep clothes at their best during fast wardrobe changes,' she says.
For anyone with a shoe addiction (guilty), Sofia also uses a organizer-approved technique to show off her collection in a neat format.
'Sofia has made a practical decision store her shoes in line, with the right shoe in front and the left behind to make best use of the deep angled shelving on the two shoe walls,' she says. 'Whilst this isn’t visually rewarding, it does mean she can see one shoe of each pair at a glance.'
